Football, Brazil and Better Life

The OECD Better Life Index – which lets you measure and compare what is important to your well-being – is launching a Portuguese version in Brazil on 9 June 2014.

Is there more to life than football?

Brazil’s Minister of Sport Aldo Rebelo and footballing legend Pelé will participate in the event and be among the first to try out the interactive tool in Portuguese.

By letting you  rank 11 topics - housing, income, jobs, community, education, environment, civic engagement, health, life satisfaction, safety, work-life balance – according to what matters most to you, the OECD’s Better Life Index (BLI) creates a powerful tool which can compare citizens’ concerns across countries. It is also an important potential new source of information for policy makers.

The launch, organised by the OECD and Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) Projetos, will take place from 10.00-12.00 at EAESP/FGV Auditorium, Rua Itapeva, 432 Bela Vista, Sao Paulo. Speakers will include Minister Rebelo, Pelé, Anthony Gooch, OECD Director of Public Affairs and Communications, and Cesar Cunha Campos, Director at FGV Projetos.

Think your country will do well at the World Cup? Create you Better Life Index and see how your country performs in well-being as well as football.
